Competence Center WebDevelopment is developing software for the entire KLM and in some cases also for Air France, as KLM is merged with Air France since 2004. KLM is a large company, at this moment we consist of approximately 34.000 KLM employees, we have 205 aircraft, we transport 540.000 tons of freight per year and we fly to 125 destinations all over the world. To get an idea of the systems we develop for KLM, below you find a listing of the different Divisions we work for: Commercial All on-line sales activities sell the 22.500.000 tickets for our 205 aircraft per year. We maintain and build many applications to support our customers with handy functionality, see our website KLM.com. Ground ServicesThe handling of passengers, baggage and aircraft at the airport is the responsibility of the Ground Services division. This division takes care of everything that happens on the ground, and that's a lot. For it is not just about checking in, baggage and loading, but also for fueling and cleaning the aircraft. Engineering and Maintenance KLM has a large Divison for the maintenance of all our aircraft and engines. Operational Control CenterThe OCC is the organisation in which all operational disciplines are housed in one building at Schiphol East. Jointly the staff coordinates 24 hours a day all flight movements and related factors Air FranceMore and more KLM and Air France are executing "Joint projects" to get synergy out of the two airlines. In the Business to Consumer domain (B2C) KLM is running projects for both KLM and AirFrance. For instance a large project to create a joint Booking Tool for all our on-line sales is planned to start in 2011. You and KLM?
